Advertisement for the Post of Senior Hardware Design & IoT Engineer

The Vishlesan I-Hub Foundation, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, invites applications from motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Senior Hardware Design & IoT Engineer. The appointment shall be for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements.
About the Role
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating IoT-based hardware systems within ongoing R&D and translational projects at IIT Patna. The position demands strong expertise in embedded systems, PCB design, IoT protocols, and cloud integration.
Essential Technical Skills
Candidates must possess demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Arduino-based IoT systems and general-purpose sensor development
Multi-layer PCB design and fabrication
Prototype assembly, SMD/through-hole soldering, and hardware validation testing
Embedded C/C++ development using ESP-IDF and Arduino IDE
Node-RED and MQTT protocol implementation for private IoT networks
AWS IoT Core integration and related services
Data acquisition and storage (SD card), and remote dashboard visualisation using MQTT
Development of low-power, solar-operated IoT devices
Minimum Requirements
Field experience: At least 2 years of relevant industry or research experience
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on the date of application
Desirable Experience
Sensor design, integration, and calibration
Hardware debugging and firmware validation
Experience in teaching, training, or mentoring in PCB design, hardware development, or IoT systems
Educational Qualifications
B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related disciplines with a CGPA of 6.0 or above
Diploma in ECE/EE or related fields with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
Note: Exceptional candidates with strong field experience may be considered even if the above academic requirements are not strictly met.
Selection Process
Online Written Test (50% weightage)
Topics: PCB Design, Electronics, Embedded Systems, Sensors, and IoT Design
Formal Online Interview (50% weightage)
Consolidated Salary
₹75,000 per month (all-inclusive)
Tenure
12 months, extendable based on project needs and satisfactory performance
